This event will bring American PWC riders  and their families to romantic Mexico for an aquatic adventure on the lovely Sea of Cortez. Riders will not only enjoy the warm Mexican hospitality along with the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, you will do it on the day Mexico celebrates its’ independence, their equivalent of the 4th of July. So the entire country will be in a “Fiesta” mode...what could be more fun! Oh, I know, winning cash in the Personal Watercraft Illustrated Poker Run! Each entry will build a poker hand by drawing a playing card at each of five super fun stops. You will cruise at your leisure to these stops during the daylong party.

 

Our host hotel, the luxurious Playa Bonita resort will welcome our riders Friday night with a bonfire on the beach sponsored by Tecate Cerveza (that’s beer to you gringos!).

 

Saturday that same beach will be the center of operations for the first International Poker & Fun Run. You can set up a day camp on the lovely sandy beach, and from there ride in the warm, inviting waters of the gulf to pick up your poker hand at some of the most romantic beach bars in all of old Mexico. You’ll stop at “The Reef Bar”on Sandy Beach, famous “JJ’s Bar” in smooth Chola Bay, “Playa del Oro”, and enjoy the ambience while you draw a card at each.  For one long leg you’ll run down the coast a few miles to draw a card at the ruins of an ancient Mayan Palace.  Additional cards will be drawn at the “Intrepid” (a boat) anchored just off-shore, at the center of the course. The bar overlooking the old marina in the port will provide shelter from the warm Rocky Point sun and another refreshing beverage after you cruise among the fishing boats in the tiny, romantic port.

 

All of the stops will be manned by members of our staff, assisted by helpful locals. Your safety on the water is assured by safety boats around the calm bay staffed by friendly local enthusiasts.  You will be able to enjoy this Mexican adventure without concern, and experience the famous tides along with the warmth of the Sea of Cortez in safety. A unique family fun run, and international experience with your PWC  to be shared with friends.

 

Set your own schedule, hang out on the main beach, ski in the glass smooth cove in front of JJ’s Bar, return to the spa or pool at your oasis, the Playa Bonita - whatever you do, this PWC adventure weekend will be  safe, fun, and friendly. It may even be profitable too, as we will pay out cash prizes to the top poker hands at the Saturday night dinner and awards at the Playa Bonita’s beachside restaurant (dinner for two included with your entry).

 

If your luck isn’t great with your poker hand, don’t fret because over one hundred door prizes will be given away during the evening. Most everyone will be a winner!
