Burn-Out Contest

KJJJ/BFGoodrich burnout contest

At all of our Happenigs we have the KJJJ / BFGoodrich burnout contests . The contest works like this - we place two, one inch thick steel plates down on the ground and secure them to make a perfectly even playing field. We put a hydro barrier, called the Bud barrier in honor of the large amounts of Bud we consumed while we were developing this contest, in front of the plates. This is to stop the cars from moving forward. We put special chocks of the front tires of the competitors cars and block them to the Bud Barrier to ensure that they can't move.

Then we position a car so that the back wheels are on the plates and the front wheels are blocked. We station two Mop Men, one on either side of the car to keep the car from moving sideways, then the driver has 15 seconds to turn his horsepower into smoke and noise by spinning his wheels on the plates.

The winners are determined by crowd reaction, we measure the cheers and applause using audio sound level meters and the competitors that gets the loudest reaction from the audience is the winner.

There are three classes for competitors; Pro Class for those that have won before, Sportsman for novices and a class just for Front Wheel Drive cars.
