Race Site

We are very fortunate to have what I am told is the first ever dedicated PWC
racing site in history! Joe LaBarbera of Crazy Horse is so enthusiastic
about the future of the Jet Jam Performance Weekend Wseries that he has
permitted us to take over an entire cove at Crazy Horse Campground. For
those familiar with the site, Jet Jam Cove is immediately to the west
(towards California) from the marina. It is in the area commonly known as
the wilderness area.
The
cove has 900 feet of shoreline for pits (for reference, the distance from
the Boat House to the Light House on the beach at Crazy Horse is 700 feet).
We are making roads into and out of the cove now, and thanks to the
generosity of Dub Campbell and Sunstate Equipment for providing the heavy
equipment, and Marc Marsh and Doug Hicks working with Mike Marsh, our event
director/heavy equipment operator we are ahead of schedule for the site
preparation. (See photo on right) To get to Jet Jam Cove you
will enter the main entrance to Crazy Horse, off of Beachcomber Boulevard,
and then turn to the left immediately before the guard shack. But, please
stop there and check in with Bernie, the senior guard, and pay the
campground day use fee. This is the only revenue that Crazy Horse gets from
their major contribution to our events, so please don’t try to circumvent
paying it.
You will then follow the signs to the cove, and remember,
there is one way traffic through the cove. You will be allowed to take your
tow vehicle into the pits to drop off your equipment, then you must move it
to the parking area on the top of the mesa. Unfortunately, (just like the
World Finals) there isn’t room enough for everyone to have their trucks in
the pits, so, noone may. If you have a big rig, and are preentered, please
contact us ahead of time and we will arrange and reserve premium parking
space for it. We will have arrangements for you to dry camp at the site
also. Our cove will contain a permanent race track for the
“Fab 50’s” mini motorcycles, an area for entertainment, plus a vendor and
food and beverage service area. |
