I trust by now you are preparing your booth and display for the opening of the Market on Main, Thursday October 29. We would like to update you on what we have been doing to help ensure you a profitable selling environment this year.

We at DSM Events were honored when Main Street offered us the opportunity to take the venture they launched last year as the Uptown Market and shepherd it to the next level. This is with the long term goal of growing it into a farmers - arts - crafts - vendors open air market and street fair of which we and the City can be proud.

In order to accommodate the projected growth we moved the location up Main Street to the empty lot at the corner of Querio and McCulloch. Property owners Springberg and McAndrew made this move possible. We changed the hours to 3 to 7 pm, and stayed with Thursdays. This decision was made easy with the greatly increased activity already taking place on Main Street due to car enthusiasts adopting the Boulevard for cruisin’ on Thursday evenings. The Market will add to their activities and they will add to ours. I might add that the Market remains pet friendly at the new location.

While much remains the same we have instituted a number of things to make it easier for vendors, such as our Concierge Service option. For a small fee we will provide, set up, and tear-down canopies, tables and chairs so that our vendors can travel light if they choose. But don’t overlook your City Business License!

We will have food on the site to make it easy for people to stay. Taco Hacienda will be our food vendor and we will have tables and chairs in the dining area to encourage people to remain and relax. While they are relaxing they will be treated to either live entertainment, or recorded music to enhance the cruisin’ atmosphere of the Boulevard. A cool evening pick-me-up can be gotten with a latte from the Hava Java van which is also an annual vendor at the Market. And if the evening gets too cool a warm up around the fire pit will chase the chills!

The Market will be open every Thursday from October 29 until April 29 excepting Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. A real bonus for our annual contract vendors is the opportunity to vend during the Thursday night of the Desert Storm function on the Boulevard (we will stay open late), and the weekend of the Chamber of Commerce’s Winterfest. These two events alone make our annual vendor contract a bargain! Space locations are assigned in the order we receive paid vendor applications, and annual contract vendors will have permanent space assignments, so get your application in now.

To be sure that everyone knows what we are doing and that you will be there selling we have launched a number of promotional and advertising vehicles:

  • Distribution of over 100 posters
  • Email flyer to all Lake Havasu Chamber of Commerce members
  • Two column by 5" display ad in the Today’s News Herald (five days preceding opening)
  • Radio commercial on KJJJ and KNTR
  • Float in the London Bridge Days Parade
  • Color full page ad in Tristate Motor News (issue for the Run to the Sun)
